FAQ

Can stress cause dandruff?
Stress is not a direct cause of dandruff, but it can exacerbate contributing factors. Indeed, when stressed, the body secretes more cortisol, a hormone that can increase sebum production. This environment can then lead to an imbalance of the scalp and result in dandruff.
How to recognize seborrheic dermatitis?
Seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp is characterized by chronic inflammation with greasy white or yellowish dandruff, scaling, redness, and itching. It also affects other areas of the body characterized by high sebum production (upper back, nose, eyebrows). If in doubt, especially if the red patches persist or spread, medical advice is recommended.
How long until I see results from a treatment?
The time taken can vary depending on the condition of the scalp, regularity of use, and the type of dandruff. While the first use may bring satisfactory results, continued use over several washes is necessary to observe a lasting and visible improvement in comfort and flaking.
Which active ingredients are effective against dandruff?
Several dermo-cosmetic active ingredients can be useful for dandruff. Keratolytic active ingredients (salicylic acid, Cade essential oil, etc.) and keratoreducing active ingredients (Cade essential oil) promote the elimination of scales. Antifungal active ingredients (piroctone olamine, undecylenic acid, niacinamide, inulin) limit the proliferation of Malassezia yeast, which is involved in the appearance of dandruff. Sebo-regulating active ingredients (zinc and nettle) help reduce excess sebum in cases of oily dandruff. Soothing active ingredients (sodium lactate, lactic acid, and glycyrrhetinic acid) improve redness and comfort.
